Associate Professor, PA at war over a trivial Xerox copy | Nothing social about it! | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 7: Department of Sociology in the University of Jammu, which claims to hold researches in new social orders in the modern society has been caught in petty fights over things as petty as a photocopy of a document. According to sources, the Personal Assistant (PA) of HoD Sociology department Professor Aabha Chouhan, was not only made to tender a written apology, but was also transferred following his refusal to get the Xerox copy of a document sent by an Associate Professor done. The high voltage drama that took place in Sociology department, few days ago, was witnessed by the students and scholars of Sociology department. Eye witness disclosed that Associate Professor Vishav Raksha sent her student to the PA namely Suresh Gupta, to get the Xerox copy of a document done. Since the Xerox machine was out of order, the PA refused the same which hurt the ego of the Associate Professor and paved way for verbal brawl between two. The irate Associate Professor rushed to the VC's Chamber and reportedly leveled various allegations against the PA. Based on her complaint, the PA was summoned to the administration department for apology. Though the PA tendered apology, but the adamant Associate Professor insisted on written apology which was also conceded upon. Still not satisfied, the Associate Professor then raised the demand of his transfer threatening not to attend her classes if her demand was not fulfilled. Finally, the administration bowed down before the adamant Associate Professor and transferred him from the Sociology department. Sunil Sahi, president of the Non Teaching Association when contacted said, "The Xerox machine was actually out of order and the PA Suresh Gupta wanted to communicate the same, but the matter reached higher administration and was blown out of proportion". |
