Stop execution of work on Kahara-Jai road project: TDF 10/7/2014 11:12:48 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 7: Thathri Development Front (TDF) has criticized the authorities for diversion of Kahara-Jai road and have demanded immediate stopping of execution of work on Kahara Jai road. Addressing media persons, Om Parkash Rao, Surinder Kumar and Kuldeep Kumar said that the government order NO:-328 PW(R&B) of 2014 dated 18-07-2014 is quite in-genuine thoughtless as it is based on a report submitted by a committee constituted vide court direction dated 06-06-2012 as the officers of committee had never themselves conducted the inquiry and never visited themselves but submitted to the government a report which was prepared by the lower rank officers of R&B, PMGSY & Forests against which the public had complained to the government & also in the court. The court directions have not been followed in letter & spirit. "The said lower officers have willfully skipped the real issue i.e why the road is going from Halaran To Joura Khurd(population 1107 souls) directly through an unpopulated forest area instead of touching villages Budhi & Joura Kalan(combine population 323+939=1262 as per their report) ? They could take one zig after touching Joura Kalan & then take the road to Joura Khurd which involves no loss of Forest. At Malanoo 4 unnecessary zigs have been given & at Ranote also 3 Zigs have been given with the sole aim of connecting all villages en-route, why are they hesitating from giving one zig at Joura Kalan? These aggrieved villages are inhabited by minority community & they have strong misgivings that a wrong and in-genuine treatment is being meted out to them only because of their community. Otherwise there is no reason why the concern authorities are so adamant on a wrong thing. This clearly shows that the Ex. Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ex. Minister R&B, G.M.Saroori, Present Minister, R&B, Abdul Majid Wani & concerning MLA, M.S.Niaz who all belong to the majority community have definitely tried to please their own vote bank otherwise why should they have turned a deaf ear to our genuine demand", they said. They further said that if proper inquiry would not be conducted and the order No:- 328 PWD(R&B) dated 18-07-2014 would not be reviewed & if consequently the work as per the challenged survey would go on, the land of the people of Budhi & Joura, which comes in this survey, is consumed without any road connectivity to them, they may not tolerate this gross injustice & some strong resentment may erupt for which the concerned authorities will be responsible.
