Jammu, Oct 7: A meritorious student of Jammu University, who was recently selected for M.Phill course in prestigious Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) has appealed Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Justice MM Kumar, for early disposal of case, pending in the court. Marvi Slathia, who had topped the M.Phil/Ph.D entrance test of JNU across country, in Center for Russia and Central Asia of the School of International Studies, has sought personal intervention of Chief Justice as due to a pending writ petition in High Court, her result of MA is pending with University of Jammu, creating hindrances in her admission to JNU. "The JNU administration has granted me last extension for submission of requisite documents till November 5 but a writ petition OWP No. 468/2014, (titled: Cathleen Kour and ors vs Jammu University and another), is pending in the court", she said. She further appealed that in the last two months, the writ petition was enlisted but not be taken up in High Court, due to higher pendency of cases and even on September 30, the petition was listed at serial number 93, but again it was not taken up. In her appeal to Chief Justice, Marvi Slathia has further said that JNU was one of the prestigious University in India and every student aspired to be enrolled in the University. "Respected Sir, I had also sent an appeal letter to you but of no avail. Sir, our constitution even grants right of education to even hardcore criminals and terrorists but the same right is being denied to me. So it is my humble request to you sir for early disposal of my case or any interim relief to me, so that the precious seat in JNU will be saved", Marvi has said in the letter. |
