DGP visits border areas, assures locals steps taken for their welfare | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 7: Director General of Police J&K, K.Rajendra Kumar, IPS today conducted a extensive visit to the affected border villages, where heavy firing from across the border is going on due to which five villagers lost their lives and resulting in injuries to so many people and loss to the livestock in recent skirmishes. Accompanied with Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone Rajesh Kumar, Dy Inspector General of Police JKS Range Shakeel A Beig and other senior police officers, Director General of Police J&K, K.Rajendra Kumar was visited the areas affected by the ongoing firing/shelling along the International Border (IB) at Arnia and R.S.Pura Sector. During his visit DGP K Rajendra also interacted with BSF and other officers who were present on spot and apprised the DGP about the whole situation. After making an assessment of the situation, the DGP briefed the Police/BSF personnel to synergize their efforts and fully ensure the safety and security of the local population. Moreover, during his visit to border areas of Arnia and R S Pura sector, DGP interacted with the affected public at safe shelters at Rehal and Salehar and assured them that police have undertaken a stock of the measures taken for their welfare and safety. Later on, DGP J&K visited the houses of the deceased persons at Arnia and extended his heartfelt condolences to bereaved families. While chairing a meeting of J&K Police officials at P/S Arnia, DGP (J&K) exhorted to be the first responders in the hour of crisis and help the public of border areas round the clock. DGP J&K during his visit to border also held interaction with the officers of BSF deployed in these areas. |
