MENDHAR, Oct 7: A Junior Engineer (JE) of Rural Development Department (RDD) has been apprehended by police for allegedly abducting a girl from Kablari near here.
A 21-year-old girl was missing from her residence at Kablari, Mendhar, since September 29 last. After her parents failed to find any clue of her, they yesterday lodged a written complaint with Mendhar police station, alleging therein that JE Mohammad Latief had abducted her.
Acting on their complaint, police allegedly recovered the girl from the JE's possession. The girl was recovered on a tip-off, police sources said.
The JE was then arrested and booked by police under section 366 of RPC. The girl was restored to her parents.
Latief, who hails from Salwa, Mendhar, was putting up in Mendhar town for the past some time, the sources added.
He is at present posted in the office of block development officer, Mendhar. |
