| Jammuites shine in 7th airtel half marathon, claim bronze | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 24: Prabhat Singh ,Rajesh Padha, Pawan, Gaurav brought laurels to the state after winning Bronze medals respectively in different categories 7th Airtel Half Marathon- 2014 (21km ). According to spokesperson the marathon runners touched the finish line before the stipulated time of marathon i.e. 3hrs and thus were awarded with bronze medals. He said, "A total of seven member team comprising 6 males and 1 female participated in this event held at New Delhi in different categories and Prabhat Singh finished under (65ys) covered the distance in time 1:58 hrs, TarsemLal (under 65yrs) clocked 2:34 hrs to finish the marathon and Rajesh Padha (under 60) recorded 2:08 hrs while Sanjay Saini (lucky) in Under 55 category covered the track in 2:26 hrs and VK Dogra participating under 55yrs category completed marathon in 2:34 hrs. "Another participant Gaurav Gupta in under 35 yrs category covered the marathon distance in 2:10hrs while Pawan Sharma the only female from Jammu participating in under 50yrs category recorded 2:35 hrs, "spokesperson said. "Expect the experienced Rajesh Padha who had already participated in previous 3 Airtel Half Marathons, 3 Police Half Marathons ,1 Mumbai Full Standard Chartered Marathon the rest of all participanst were first timers, he said adding, " Padha is scheduled to participate Mumbai Standard Marathon to be held on coming January 18." |
