SRINAGAR, Nov 24: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and NC provincial president for Kashmir, Nasir Aslam Wani were greeted with anti-NC and anti-government slogans inside Deputy Commissioner's office today where they had gone to file Wani's nomination papers from Amira Kadal constituency.
The angry mob challenged Omar to campaign in Srinagar city. They also challenged Wani to retain his seat.
Omar and Wani flanked by their supporters tried to talk to the protesters but they hustled the duo and forced them to leave the premises.
A protester told Early Times that he had suffered a loss of crores of rupees during the floods. "Neither Omar nor wani have come to the flood-hit in the Amira Kadal constituency," he said.
Pertinently in a similar incident, according to reports Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) candidate for Haba Kadal constituency, Sanjay Saraf also had to face angry protests today. Sources said that Saraf's cavalcade was stoned also in the area, however security personals deployed with Saraf working on time averted any kind of tragedy to Saraf and his supporters.
Pertinently as the five phased J&K assembly election are scheduled to begin from November 25 in which 123 candidates are trying their luck in 15 constituencies, more than 200 battalions of central forces have been deployed in 15 constituencies to ensure violence free polling, at the same time Authorities have already launched valley wide crackdown against anti-election protesters and separatist leaders to ensure violence free polling.
