JAMMU, Nov 24: The Minister for Industries and Commerce Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, whose fate is to be decided today in the first phase of assembly elections, has reportedly furnished wrong information regarding the records of land at Bhatindi, on which his palatial house is constructed.
According to the affidavits submitted by Minister before Election authorities, in the option of immovable property, before the column of residential buildings, the Minister has mentioned that he possessed a plot measuring 5 Kanals at Bhatindi Jammu, under Khasra number 254.
Contesting the claims of Minister, sources said that it was the same land on which Minister for Industries along with his brothers had constructed palatial houses and the Khasra number was entered wrongly as 254 in affidavits, while it was actually Khasra number 249 in Revenue records.
"Surprisingly, in year 2007, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, along with his brother Yasir Bashir and Tanvir Ahmed Kichloo had secured a stay from Ist Additional Munsif Forest Jammu, on Khasra number 249, relating to the possession of land in Bhatindi", sources said.
They further said that in the Revenue records of district Jammu, the land under Khasra number 249, on which Minister had raised up a palatial house was actually the Forest land and the Forest department was also asked to initiate action against Minister, but so far nothing has been done.
"Though no action has been taken against Minister for encroaching upon Forest land and now in new turn, Minister has mentioned wrong Khasra numbers in his affidavits, submitted before Election authorities which can be liable to action by Election authorities", sources said, adding that it was a deliberate attempt to furnish misleading information.
They further informed that moreover, in the affidavits submitted by Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo before Assembly elections of 2008, he had concealed the Khasra number of Bhatindi land; besides interestingly, the land in Bhatindi was Agriculture land but in the affidavits of 2014, Minister had shown the land at Bhatindi as Non-Agriculture land.
"Why Minister has given wrong Khasra number of Bhatindi land, it is still a million dollars question", sources said.
