'We have no mandate to speak on Article 370': Ajatshatru | BJP gags its leadership! | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 24: All the local BJP leaders involved in the election campaign and handling media have been, it seems, told by the party high command not to comment on Article 370. Everyone in the state unit of the BJP has been avoiding media persons who want to know when the BJP was releasing its manifesto for the Assembly elections. Ajatshtru Singh, who recently quit the National Conference and joined the BJP at New Delhi in the presence of BJP national president Amit Shah and MoS PMO Jitendra Singh and is member of the BJP election campaign committee when questioned about dropping Article 370 from the party manifesto, said: "We have no mandate to speak about Article 370. It is a national issue. Only national leaders would speak". The statement of Ajatshatru Singh was self-explanatory and it clearly suggested that the party high command has barred the local BJP leaders as well as party candidates seeking election to the assembly not to say a word for or against Article 370. Ajatshtru Singh during an interview by a national television was also questioned about denial of ticket from Nagrota assembly constituency and BJP. Replying to the question, Ajatshatru defended his joining the BJP and said "I would campaign for the state BJP president Jugal Kishore Sharma's brother Nand Kishore Sharma and work for his victory". "Nagrota is very dear to me; There are about 18 lakh Rajputs. I will campaign for the BJP as a loyal party worker. My campaign will help the BJP. I am impressed with Modiji. I am impressed with the BJP's vision. I joined the BJP because I want the discriminated against Jammu riyasat to get its due," he said. |
