Jail Warden aspirants hold protest, demand release of final selection list | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 24 : The selected candidates for Jail Warden On Monday staged a protest demonstration outside Press Club in support of their demand of releasing final selection list. The protesting candidates raised anti-government and anti-department slogans, warned the government not to test their patience and demanded early release of the final selection list. Addressing the protestors, Ashwani Kumar alleged that their repeated requests to government remain unheard, while a number of candidates were nearing getting overaged. "Despite the fact that no recruitment has taken place in the Prison Department since 1995 and the department is facing acute shortage of manpower with 2000 vacancies, the state government is adopting delaying tactics in releasing the final selection list, candidates claimed," he stated. He further said that even after more than three years since the conduct of interviews, the selection list was still awaited, and most of them are getting overaged. They urged the Home Department and Director General Prison PL Gupta to personally look into matter for getting the selection list released. Later, BJP's contesting candidate from Gandhi Nagar Kavinder Gupta met with them and assured he would take their demands after election at suitable platform. |
