BJP workers assault people, JKNPP men distribute liquor | Grave violation of MCC | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 24 : A complaint against BJP workers has been lodged in Police Station Sunderbani for forcing people to cast vote in favour of the party while as a strong protest against Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party was held for distributing cash and liquor among people for vote. As per reports, two persons Rakesh Kumar s/o Ramesh Chander and MadanLal s/o Mangat Ram, both residents of village Barnara lodged complaint against BJP workers for assaulting them following their refusal to cast vote in favour of BJP candidate. In their complaint, they alleged that backed by MP BJP about ten BJP workers led by Mohan Lal, ex Sarpanch and one Davender Kumar assaulted them when they objected for forcing them to cast vote in favour of party.Meanwhile, the protest was held by a group of one hundred Ramnagar people led by yuva Ramnagar general secretary namely Pankaj Singh Bandral here today. Accusing JKNPP leaders of distributing liquor in small packets, the protestors demanded action from Election Commission of India. They said that it was due to liquor an accident of a JKNPP vehicle (Maruti Van) at Basantgarh which is situated in Ramnnagar constituency took place few days ago. The van of JKNPP bearing its flag was carrying some fruity packets driven under the influence of liquor. The vehicle skidded resulting in the death of one person on the spot and critically injuring the other two. Accusing police of leniency, they alleged that police did not hold naka or check stop for checking these fruity packets. Meanwhile, SSP Udhampur Suleman Salaria when contacted said that action to be taken against accused persons once police received complaint. |
