Backdoor appointments: Vigilance books Chief Education Officer Jammu, others | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 3: State Vigilance Organization (SVO) Jammu today registered a case against TarsemLal, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Jammu and others, who by abusing their official positions connived with the beneficiaries / selectees to Class IV posts in Education Department. According to sources the SVO has registered a case FIR No.30/2014 under Section 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act and Sections 120-B, 466, 468 & 471 RPC against the CEO, Jammu and others. "The FIR has been lodged in pursuance to Joint Surprise Check (JSC), conducted by Vigilance Organisation, to verify the allegations regarding misappropriations made in the selection process to the post of Class IV employees", sources said. They further said that JSC has found out that, out of 90 selected candidates 15 candidates have not filled their application forms and have been appointed through backdoor. "JSC also found that academic points of 13 selected candidates have been raised/ increased and 06 candidates were either given less marks by interview committee or were shown absent and their marks/points were fraudulently raised which led to their selection", sources said, adding that the CEO Jammu has also violated Govt Orders with regard to the procedure required to be adopted in the recruitment process." "In this way 33 undeserving candidates were illegally benefitted in the selection process which has rendered the selection of Class IV employees in Education Department illegal, arbitrary and unfair", the sources added. |
