Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 3: In the first two phases of assembly elections, a large number of people have participated. Not only people but leaders of different political parties also seem to be enthusiastic to participate in these elections whether in rural or urban areas. One such constituency is AmiraKadal where candidates are busy in campaigning and going from door to door to woo the voters. There is four-cornered contest in this prestigious constituency among sitting MLA NasirAslamWani of National Conference, HinaBhat of BJP, Amir Rasool of Congress and Altaf Bukhari of PDP. All of them are hopeful of winning this seat. Talking to Early Times, Wani said, "I am seeking vote in the name of development, prosperity and party manifesto." He said he "sees no serious threat from other candidates though every candidate is doing his best to woo the voters and this is the beauty of democracy". "The people of my constituency have always pinned hopes and faith in me and I will never let them town as AmiraKadal is the city centre consisting of around 87,000 voters," he added. HinaBhat, who is presently on Jammu visit to seek Kashmiri migrant votes, said that she yesterday visited Jagti migrant camp and had cordial meeting with the inmates. She said that this time people want change and BJP is the best choice for them as this is the only party which believes in deliverance. Hina said that AmiraKadal consists of many prominent and posh areas like Sanat Nagar, Rawalpora, Barzulla, Maisuma, LalChowk, Kokerbazar, MagarmalBagh, Jawahar Nagar and Raj Bagh. "I am myself touring different areas to seek votes for me and my party . It is not easy to seek votes for a right wing party in Kashmir but with the grace of Almighty, everything is going well," she added. Congress and PDP are also doing their job and ultimately, it will be seen, who is the real winner in the four-cornered contest in AmiraKadal. As per sources, BJP candidate is giving good fight to NC and PDP candidates and if boycott goes successful in the city which is an old practice, Hina may emerge as surprise winner. |
