Srinagar, Dec 3: Asking Pakistan to understand that Kashmir is an integral part of India and stop thinking to get an inch of it Finance Minister, ArunJaitley said that kashmiris by voting in large numbers have proved former Prime Minister, AtalBihari right in saying that 'History can be changed not the Geography'.
Addressing a gathering of people here at SKICC today, ArunJaitley said that Kashmir is an integral part of India and now Pakistan will have to accept once for all that whatever it does it cannot get an inch of Kashmir which belongs to India.
He said that by voting overwhelmingly in first two phases of ongoing polls, kashmiris once again have proved former Prime Minister of India, AtalBihari Vajpayee right in saying that 'History can be changed not geography'.
"When Vajpayee jii became PM he went to Lahore in bus, extended hand of friendship to Islamabad and said that neighbours cannot be changed but relations could be, history can be changed but not geography, this time too history is being changed by Kashmiris by voting in large numbers more than people of Jharkhand."ArunJaitley said. While elaborating Vajpayee's statement, ArunJaitley said that 'Vajpayee Ji has said that 'we will find solution of all issues within the ambit humanity, he meant to say was that issue of terrorism will be settled and added that centre government led by Narendra Modi is keen to take care of issues pertaining to kashmiris on daily basis and that only was the reason that few days back when two boys were killed I apologized for the incident ". Terming the unemployment a major issue in Kashmir he said that central government is keenly watching this problem and added that people by showing trust in democracy have also themselves decided to solve their problems as people here have now realized the fact that India is growing rapidly economically.
Quoting an incident of 2010 when he visited Kashmir at a time when stone pelting used to be order of the Kashmir streets, ArunJaitley said that he met some college students who narrated to him tales of misery pertaining to presence of forces in Kashmir and since then his take on Kashmir changed.
