Crime Branch Jammu registers FIR against fraudster 'Cop couple'

Jammu, Dec 3: Crime Branch, Jammu today registered a case against Woman Selection Grade Constable Nirmal Kour alias Nirmal Saini and her husband Selection Grade Constable Mohinder Singh Saini for cheating and duping the fellow officials and misappropriating the huge amount of money and gold.
Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Crime Branch, Jammu Mubassir Latifi told that a case against FIR No. 23/2014 u/s 420, 406, 120-B RPC was registered on the complaints of two Woman Constables Veena Devi No.533/IR-15th Bn and Sabeena Akhter No. 544/IR-15th Bn, lodged with Commandant IRP-15th Bn. Jammu therein alleging that the accused W/S.G. Ct Nirmal Kour and her husband SG. Ct. Mohinder Singh Saini presently posted in AP-14th Bn. for cheating and criminal misappropriation of Rs 2.00 lakhs.
"Complainants stated that the amount had been taken by the couple with the promise of repaying the money with an interest of Rs5000/- per month, but neither the interest nor the principal amount was paid to them, he said, adding, " during the course of preliminary enquiry conducted by the Commanding Officer IR-15th Bn it was found that the accused Nirmal Kour in connivance with her husband Mohinder Singh Saini had collected a huge amount of cash and gold not only from the complainants but also from other women officials of the 15th Bn and Security wing illegally and dishonestly by alluring them for high rate of interest and gold loan facilities. "The duo had used the money and gold for their personal use thereby cheating and duping the fellow officials and misappropriating the collected amount to the tune of Rs 1.50 crores and gold about 300 gms, he added.
He said reportedly a number of other persons have also been duped and cheated by this charlatan couple and added that thorough investigation has been initiated into the matter.
