Court awards four years RI, fine Rs 50,000
Abetment to suicide case

Jammu, Dec 3 : Principal Sessions Judge Jammu RS Jain today awarded Sonal Gondhi alleged lover who was facing trial in abetment to suicide case.
According to the police case, information was received from reliable source that at Jullaka Mohalla near Baba Lalji Chowk, one girl Amanpreet Kour d/o Ravinder Singh r/o 897/EP Jullaka Mohala aged about 17 years has been found dead in the room of the residential house.
Hence proceedings u/s 174 CrPC was initiated. Deceased Amanpreet Kour was a student of 11th class aged about 17 years and was studying in Mubarak Mandi Girls Higher Secondary school. And that prior to this, the deceased was studying in Environmental school, Jullaka mohalla and they came to know that she was on friendly terms with a student of that school namely Sonal Gondi. That the deceased informed her parents that Sonal Gondi had started stalking her again and harass and trouble her.
It is the further case of prosecution that said Sonal was accompanied by another boy namely Subham and they have said that she should have sexual relation with Sonal otherwise, her photographs and letters would be uploaded on the internet. As per the statements of the parents recorded u/s 175 CrPc, it came out that Amanpreet Kour was being harassed and blackmailed by both the accused and being fed up by the constant harassment, committed suicide by hanging herself. Hence offence u/s 306 RPC was proved against the accused. Accordingly FIR No.136/2011 for offence u/s 306 RPC was registered in Pacca Danga, Jammu.
Principal Sessions Judge Jammu RS Jain after hearing both the sides observed that The accused by his conduct instigated Amanpreet Kour to end her life in a horrific manner. Such like crimes are affront to the human dignity. The crime is not only against the victim and her family, it is against the whole society as well and awarded four years imprisonment and to a fine of Rs.5000/- under Section 306 RPC. (JNF)
