1st Ever Professional Football club constituted at Jammu | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 1: The 1st Ever Professional Football club namely, Lonestar Football Club has been constituted today at Jammu. Football the most popular game of the world, has a rich history in our State also for the past several decades. The Jammu & Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) incepted in 1964 has around 500 clubs/teams registered with it, who play regular and competitive football round the year in all Districts of J&K State. The Association has been working out rightly to promote football in every nook and corner of the State. Besides preparing State Teams for its participation in various National Level Events of the Country. JKFA has produced 21 international players till date among whom Ishfaq Ahmed and Mehrajudin Wadoo played in recently concluded Heron Indian Super League 2014. JKFA is also proud to have its President Z.A.Thakur, as newly elected Treasurer of (AIFF) All India Football Federation. JKFA had been trying its best to have its presence at the National Level by way of a professional club. This year, the Association succeeded in getting one local business house from Kashmir Valley namely LoneStar Group who took over a localfootball club of Kashmir and reviewed/completed all required formalities framed by AIFF/AFC/FIFA for any professional club participating in tournaments like I-league, Federation Cup, IFA Shield, Durand Cup etc. The LoneStar Group has established business facilities in various core sectors of India and Middle East. With verticals that are exploring innovative and sustainable avenues in retail, software, handicrafts, beauty and real estate sectors. The LoneStar Group is committed in its endeavor to be a dominant football force within J&K State and rest of the country. The Club has been strengthened by a few Foreign Players, a few outside state players and rest all local players who have to compete against other 7 such big football clubs of the country. The club has also raised its school team U-15 and U-19 teams as per the guidelines of AIFF. The owner of the Club Iftikhar Lone is also the Chairman of the Club. Patron JKFA and Chairman Disciplinary Committee AIFF NazirA Khan is the Executive Director of the Club Executive President & Chairman Sports Board J&K Bank Ab Hamid Banday is the Patron of the Club. President JKFA, Z A Thakur, Farmaan A Lone, Prof B A Shah, S A Hameed, M Yousuf Dar, Noor A Lone comprise the Board of Directors. Sports Professional Manager, Majid Yousuf Dar has been appointed as the Secretary of the Club. In technical area, Hilal Rasool AFC Pro License Coach has been appointed as Head Coach and will be assisted by Satpal Singh AFC “B” License Coach while Sajid Dar (Indian Team Head Coach for U-17 World Cup) appointed as Technical Director of the Club. Principal Correspondent Deccan Herald Zulfikar Majid is the Media Officer of the Club. The Club has also a good panel of Asst. Coaches and Supporting Staff for youth development and Grassroot Programmes. Meanwhile, the Girls Football team of J&K was also felicitated in the function. The LoneStar Kashmir FC U-19 is all set to take on Bangaluru FC in I League U-19 on 1st February 2015 at Ambedkar Stadium New Delhi. The 2nd Div I League is commencing from 2nd week of March in which Momammadan Sporting Kolkata, Hindustan FC Delhi, Aizwal FC Mizoram, Chanmari FC Meghalaya, United SC Kolkata, Kenkre FC Mumbai, PIFA Sports Mumbai will compete with LoneStar Kashmir Football Club. |
