JAMMU, Jan 1: The hidden motives behind the ongoing campaign launched by Jammu University Research Scholar Executive Association (JURSEA) have stood exposed as its president Sukhdev Singh who was allegedly in collusion with the former Vice Chancellor Prof MPS Ishar had escaped action for violation of university norms.
The close association of JURSEA President Sukhdev Singh with the former VC Prof MPS Isher could be gauged from the fact that he pursued regular M Phil in Urdu Department from JU and Patwar training at the same time during the tenure of Prof MPS Isher in sheer violation of Jammu university norms.
Anticipating action against him for his alleged misdeeds and the action against the masterminds behind him who used to save and back him by using political power, incumbent JURSEA president had started launching haphazard campaigns against the JU authority by raising many issues, ostensibly to exert pressure on the new VC so that the action against his misdeeds could not be initiated which he averted during the tenure of former VC Prof Isher.
As per documents in procession of Early Times reveal that Sukhdev Singh was selected for Patwar training Vide Govt order No (259) NG of 2012 at serial No 39 dated 10/10/2012 from District Udhampur and he joined the training institute on 18/10/2012 but at the same time he was pursuing regular M Phil from Urdu Department.
"During his session as Patwar trainee, he attended total 111 classes from Government Patwar Training Institute Gole Gujral and at the same time continued to pursue his regular M Phil from JU violating set norms," document disclosed.
Giving a damn to the university authority, JURSEA President not only completed his M Phil with grade 'A' but got approval for Ph D in Urdu under the theme 'Gian Chand Ki Adabi Khidmant' under Prof Shohab on 29/04/2013 while pursuing Patwar Trainee.
As per JU statute which reads that in no case a whole time scholar shall take up a job or engage in any business, profession or avocation during the minimum period as required under statute.
Astonishingly, Sukhdev Singh, in an affidavit submitted by him while joining for Patwar training had clearly declared that he was not pursing any course or employment but factually he was doing regular M Phil in Urdu and completed his both terms and submitted his dissertation.
Sources raised questions that how a person who is undergoing Patwar Training and attended 111 classes can remain present at the same in the Urdu Department and can submit his dissertation as a regular student and how it is possible that JU administration remained unaware of it.
However, sources further said that after attaining the Patwar training for nine months, Sukhdev Singh gave his resignation as Patwar Trainee.
Shockingly, despite raising this issue of violation done by JURSEA president, a delegation led by some scholars had lodged a complaint before the former VC Prof MPS Isher but VC did not take any action against him due to his close association with Sukhdev Singh.
But ever since the new VC has taken over charge, the JURSEA has started campaign against the JU authority by raking up number of issues just only to save his president from the wrong doings done by him to grind his own axe.
Earlier, during the tenure of Prof Isher, JURSEA was silent over the issue related to the student community but suddenly it has started launching campaigns on the issues like on post one man, Central University library etc. on the instance of his masters who were also once student leaders and now enjoying the favors done by former VC by providing them jobs and working behind this malicious campaign only to put pressure on the new VC with motive that he may not take action against him. |
