For NC, Congress; Jammu remains a mere pushover | 'Grand alliance' a 'Grand sabotage' of Jammu's mandate | | Abodh Sharma Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 1: By repeatedly cautioning PDP against allying with BJP and offering support to bitter political rival to stay in power, both National Conference and Congress are sabotaging the mandate that people of Jammu have given to BJP in the Assembly elections, vindicating the allegations that both these partners in previous government have considered Jammu as a mere push over. The greed and lust of both these parties is becoming too obvious. While Congress, which has shrunk to insignificance at the national level desperately wants to keep BJP out of power in J&K where it has emerged as a powerful stakeholder for the first time; NC, which was apprehending a complete rout, was buoyed by 15 seats it got and is now eyeing to stay in power by extending unconditional support to its bitter political rival PDP. Both these parties are trying every trick to ensure that PDP-BJP did not enter into alliance to form government in the state. Sources disclose that NC leaders are sponsoring stage managed protests in the Valley to exhibit that the valley would boil if PDP, which got clear mandate in the valley allied with the BJP. However, both these parties are conveniently forgetting in their voracity for power that it is BJP that has got overwhelming support in the Jammu region and any attempt to forge 'grand alliance' to keep BJP off would be nothing but a 'grand sabotage' of the mandate of people of Jammu. While both NC and Congress have been woefully exposed in their nefarious designs, PDP is gaining trust of the people in Jammu region as the party has braved NC's conspiracy to stir up public sentiment to project it as a villain if it entered into alliance with the BJP. It deserves a mention that even as BJP had been targeting PDP as father-daughter party during its elections campaigns, PDP leadership had been consistent in praising former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his peace initiatives. |
