PDP, BJP drafting CMP | `Govt formation in a couple of days' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 1: The BJP leadership has almost agreed to have an alliance with the PDP. A formal announcement could be made in few days. A draft of common minimum programme is being drafted. The announcement will be made once the drafted is approved by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "The CMP is being drafted and both sides are holding hectic deliberations. It's being fine tuned as both the parties want to have their agendas and points to be incorporated. And it may take some time," said a senior BJP leader. However, before the drafted is approved by the Modi and also by the party president Amit Shah, it will be first cleared by the national security advisor Ajit Doval. Doval, being former intelligence head knows the mind games and supposed sentiments of the Kashmir. "Doval is the literally point man in the all the deliberations. Rest are just front men. Modi trusts him and he will have a final say. Moreover, Doval is not in good terms with the NC and that is the reason, Omar and company are out of the race," said the leader. Doval has been specially brought in the loop as he knows how the separatists politics is being played out in the valley and what should be contours of the agreement which could be advantage to the BJP but at the same time doesn't give a picture that PDP has bend, as it will make the government difficult to form. The government formation in the J&K is not in other parts of the country as there are external factor and also the stand on Art 370 which makes it more contentious. "BJP has got to a point that it can take a shot. But it needs to cross the Jawahar tunnel and for that it needs not to antagonise the Kashmiri people and then makes its presence. A whole lot depends on how the agreement is framed so that people in Kashmir start having faith in the BJP. It's for this reason the agreement is taking a bit lot as Doval is very meticulous," said the leader. |
