Separatists showing keen interest in Mainstream Politics | Shah-led 'Hurriyat' opposes PDP-BJP alliance | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 1: In what can be termed as a change in their pro-Pak stand, separatist factions in Kashmir have started showing keen interest in the mainstream politics by opposing the possible PDP-BJP alliance in the government formation. After warning PDP leadership of not forming government in alliance with BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, the separatist faction led by Shabir Ahmad Shah which actually is offshoot of Separatist group 'M' led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today said that people of Jammu and Kashmir did not vote PDP to power and strengthen their hands to tie up with what they called 'Sangh Parivar' after emerging as the single largest party. Shah, Chairman of Hurriyat J&K (HJK), said that during the recently concluded assembly elections in the state people did not vote for PDP to tie up with Sangh Parivar as, according to him, Mufti Syed is attempting to have an alliance with BJP for the government formation just for the lust of power. He warned PDP leadership to stop deliberations with BJP. In his statement, he said PDP, NC, Congress and independents in Kashmir were different faces of the same coin. Pertinently, as deliberations between different political parties are on going on at many fronts in connection with the government formation in J&K, reaction of separatist factions has surprised all. It is felt that they are showing in 'mainstream politics and shifting away from their pro-Pak stance'. According to reports, a separatist leader had met Mufti Syed at his Gupkar residence and informed him about the take of separatists in the government formation. |
