Kishtwar, Jan 1: Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) district Kishtwar demands resumption work of Hydroelectric project as sson as possible and warned to come out on the road in case the work is not resumed,
According to press release, the participants criticized the management of M/s GVK Power Development for suspending their work over the project without any solid reason as a result of which hundreds of workers working in the project have become jobless and there is no one in the government to ask them as to why they suspended work over the said project.
While, Chairman Joginder Bhandari said that this was a prestigious project whose foundation stone was laid by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and had assured that local unemployed youths of district Kishtwar would be given first priority of employment in the project but the executing agency stopped its work on July 11, 2014 without showing any solid reason for the stoppage of the work.
Among others who presented in the meeting included Tariq Hussain, Ghulab Hussain Gannie, Javed Ahmed Malipath, Ashraf Hussain Gannie, Asgar Ali, Akhter Hussain, Rinku Tandulkar, Sunil Sharma, Ram Rattan Sharma, Sarder Sat Pal Singh, Hafiz Mattoo, Anil Sharma, Sameer Butt and others. |
