Tipri (Thathri), Apr 29: Expressing serious concerns over the completion of damaged to roads, particularly in snow prone areas, the Jammu and Kashmir government should introduce Soil Stabilisation Method (SSM) on the pattern of European technology to save damages to ecology of the damage prone areas. This was said by Congress MLA from Inderwal, G M Saroori while inspecting two vital road projects including Thathri-Phigsoo and Thathri Cheera roads in Thathri, of district Doda. Speaking on occasion Congress leader said, "To ensure durability and check early damages caused to the roads, particularly, in snow prone areas of the state the state government to introduce SSM on the pattern of European technology for macadamizing roads, which would not only increase life cycle of the roads but also save Rs 5 to 6 lakh per Km approximately. Saroori said that this technology would create new avenues for the engineering sector, adding that money thus saved would be utilised for creation of other infrastructure facilities. He asked the Tehsildar Phigsoo Rajesh Kumar, Executive Engineer PMGSY Thathri, R&B to monitor the ongoing PMGSY and R&B projects and ensure that the works are completed well on time. Later Congress Saroori also visited Jangalwar, Phigsoo, Nowtass, Zenhari, Tipri, Thathri, Cheera, Nandana, and Khavshali areas of Sub-Division Thathri and listened to problems highlighted by public representatives. Prominent among those Tehsildar Phigsoo, Executive Engineers R&B, PHE, AEE R&B, officers from PDD, CAPD, RDD, local congress leaders, Sarpanches, Panches, Youth Congress and people in large were present on the occasion. |
