Jammu Apr 29: BSF School Jammu organised CBSE Jammu Sahodaya Interschool Basketball tournament to mark the celebration of 50 years of Border Security Force and to honour its distinguished services to the Nation. Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF Jammu FTR, the Chairman of the School was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Smt Pratibha Sharma President BWWA Jammu presided over the function as the Guest of Honour while Ram Awtar DIG/PSO Jammu FTR, S M Mehta DIG Comn / Prov B S Kasana DIG BSF Jammu Sector, Dharmendra Pareek DIG Jammu Ftr, Trilok Singh Bisht, Principal Jodhamal Public School and President Sahodaya Jammu also were present on this occasion as a special guests. Among others prominent present included Smt Vijay Puri, Principal K C Gurukul, Colonel K D Koushal, Principal Sainik School Nagrota, S K Singh, Principal J K Public School were among the Principals of various Jammu CBSE Sahodaya Schools. At the onset Chief Guest Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF Jammu FTR was formally introduced with the members of organising committee and with the players of various participating teams. While declaring the meet opened, he applauded the laudable efforts of BSF school administration for fostering the spirit of healthy competition among the children by organising such tournaments and it will definitely boost their morale. Earlier Dr S S Khokhar presented welcome to chief guest Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF Jammu FTR and other distinguished guests. President CBSE Sahodaya Trilok Singh Bisht congratulated Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF Jammu FTR and all the officers of the force on Golden Jubilee Year of BSF. 13-CBSE schools of Jammu participated in the tournament. During today’s session of activities, Air Force School beat Banyan International school by 23 - 17, Jodhamal Public School beat K C Gurukul by 27 – 0 whereas APS Nagrota won by 23 – 4, BSF School Jammu beat Jodhamal by 20 - 11, APS Akhnoor beat G D Goenka by 37 – 17. Air force school beats A P S Domana by 25 – 7, K C Public School beats APS Nagrota by 23 – 11 whereas MHAC Nagbani beats APS Akhnoor by 29 – 10.
