| Rijju Chak residents demonstrate against CTM over 'noise pollution' | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Apr 29: In a bid to register resentment over the noise pollution due to heavy machinery of industrial unit in their locality, the irate residents of Chack Rijju staged a massive protest demonstration against the Chenab Textile Mill (CTM) on Tuesday alleging CTM a major creator of noise pollution in the nearby village Rijju Chack.
After assembling outside the gate of CTM -Kathua, locals amid slogans against the administration of CTM stage protest while alleging it for playing with the lives of thousands families of Chack Rijju which is situated in close vicinity of CTM-Kathua. They alleged that huge degree of noise pollution is being created by the heavy duty fans of machines of CTM installed at units 7, 8 and 9. These fans are producing a sound of high frequency which can never be heard by a normal person, they said.
The protestors alleged that despite the matter being brought into the notice of CTM administration and District Administration also but none have acted till date. |
