Jammu, Apr 29 : J&K Academy of Art, culture and Languages today organized a Dogri Kahani Ghosthi at K.L Saigal Hall, Jammu giving representation to short story writers of different districts of Jammu Division. According to press release, Dr. Ved Kumari Ghai, Padmashree, writer, intellectual and social activist presided and Dr. Lalit Magotra, prominent Dogri short story writer, critic and poet was Chief Guest. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were also in the presidium. Earlier speaking on the Prof. Ved Kumari Ghai complimented the short story writers who presented their short stories in Dogri and said that the short stories written in Dogri language have improved in craft and presentation and are at par with the short stories being written at national scene. While delivering welcoming address Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary said that in coming days Academy of Art, Culture and Languages will organize Mahila Dogri Kahani Goshthi alongwith other literary activities. He further disclosed that J&K Cultural Academy is going to organize four day youth music festival from 18th of May to 22nd of May 2015 daily at 5 pm at KL Saigal Hall in which youth will be provided to perform first time through the platform of J&K Cultural Academy. Those who read out their short stories were Raj Rahi (Reasi), Pankaj Gupta( Kathua) Taradanpuri (Akhnoor). Due to his bad health, his story was read out by Ashok Gupta Editor Dogri, Dr. Lalit Gupta (Jammu). Among others present were Arsh Sehbai, K.K Shakir, Madan Gopal Padha, Chattarpal, Baljeet Raina, Surinder Singh Seerat, Dr. Manojit, and Sharda Sahni. |
