Jammu, Apr 29 : Marking the 8th anniversary, of 'Amandeep Multi-Specialty OPD' Jammu, an arm of the Amandeep Hospital, Amritsar a free medical checkup camp was held by a two-member medical team from Amritsar and a First Aid training and Seminars sessions organized at Science College, Jammu. A sizeable number of patients from Jammu and surrounding areas availed facility of the free check up camp for Ear Nose Throat problems besides general diseases requiring Laparoscopic surgery, held at Amandeep Multi-specialty OPD Clinic. The free check up camp was undertaken by a team of two doctors- Dr Prahlad Duggal (MS ENT), specialist surgeon in head and neck cancer and Dr Paramjit Singh Kahlon, Laparoscopic surgeon, both from Amandeep Hospital Amritsar. While addressing a press conference today Dr Amandeep said -"The First Aid training and Seminars sessions organized by Amandeep Hospital were aimed to train students and police personnel with the help of IG Jammu and SSP of Jammu on emergencies arising out of fire accidents, road incidents as also situations of choking due to foreign particle in the throat, snake bites, dog bites, nose bleeding, injury, fractures and gave tips about 'Time as a crucial factor' besides observation and careful handling to know the extent and kind of damage, to a person." The First Aid project was designed keeping in view botched up handling during emergency situation when lack of vital knowledge leads to loss of precious lives. The session was presided over by SSP Jammu Uttam Chand & SP Jammu S. Randheer Singh. A three -member First Aid team comprised of Dr Mandeep Singh, Aakash Sharma coordinator and Avtar Singh, a senior Paramedic of the hospital. |
