NMC urges PM remove pay anomalies

Jammu, Nov 12: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to Prime Minister to direct the committee constituted for removing pay anomalies in respect of staff of lower grade pay in different categories as the time period of the said committee has exceeded its term already.
While interacting with media persons, Shastri remarked that recommendations of the seventh pay commission have not benefited the lower salaried class of the government. In view of rising costs of living, the DA raise of 2% w.e.f. July is too meager, to offer any succour.
Shastri further expressed his concerned regarding the non-finalization of HRA and other related allowances by the expert committee constituted for the purpose - 'The Committee has still not deliberated on the issue" Shastri said.
When media persons stressed that the state government has publicity antagonized lower working class by its policies, Shastri remarked that Smt. Mehbooba Mufti is trying her best and that too under serious stress and pressure under the circumstances. Shastri hoped that all issues pertaining to regularization of nearly 61000 daily rated workers and implementation of the seventh pay commission will be resolved at the earliest.
Appreciating the policies and programmes of NDA led Government at the centre Shastri further appealed to Prime Minister to fully support J&K Government is its endeavors to ameliorate the suffering of the common people as the state has been under extremely disturbed conditions. The issue of daily wagers and implementation of 7th CPC recommendations for instance is of extreme nature and is connected to 8 lack families, Shastri said.
Shastri also demanded total exemption of DA from income tax, include Jammu city in the proposed list of the 100 smart cities, enhance income tax exemption limit to rupees 5 lakh, enhancing medical allowance to Rs 2000 per month besides, and release of pending installment of DA, so that salaried/working classes can heave of sigh of relief.
Among others who were also present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S. Jamwal, Sunil Kochhar, Jaipal Sharma, Pardeep Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Kalsi, Bhupinder Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Mohd. Shafi, Darshan Baba and Suraj Parkash.
