Bhat calls his boss (Mirwaiz) visionless, one among 'blind riders'
Kashmir Unrest

Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 12: Former Chairman of Hurriyat Conference, Professor Abdul Gani Bhat, has stirred the hornet's nest by calling the separatists as "blind riders" on a "lame horse" and visionless people, who don't know what all they have put at stake.
He has become the first person among the separatists to have struck the discordant note against the Hurriyat response to the current unrest.
"Our leaders are like a blind rider on a lame horse. Horse cannot run and they also don't know where to take it. Our strategy is like jumping into a river. But before doing so, we don't even pause to think how to cross it," Prof Bhat said.
It's in place to mention here that Prof Bhat is the executive member of Hurriyat Conference (M) led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and his boss Mirwaiz is the part of the joint separatist leadership, which has been calling for the shutdown and protests for the past four months in Kashmir.
Sources said that Prof Bhat taking a dig at the separatists has created ripples in the separatist camp as many people believe that it's an indication about a rebellion within the separatists and Prof Bhat may have to pay heavily for taking on his boss (Mirwaiz).
A Kashmir watcher said, "Prof Bhat also hinted at possibility of him joining the mainstream camp as he stressed on the fact that mainstream and separatist politicians should join hands and pull Kashmir out of quagmire of uncertainty."
He said, "Many separatists like Prof Bhat have realized the futility of the separatism and are desperate to join the mainstream camp. It's not only people of Kashmir who are opposing the separatists and their ideology even those people have started opposing them who are a part of their camp."
"The continuous shutdown and protests on the streets of Kashmir and all the activities coming to a grinding halt have pushed everyone to the wall. The ongoing shutdown has become a prestige issue for the separatists and for the sake of their false ego they are not ready to listen to anyone," the Kashmir watcher added.
"Leaders should not only be honest but also sagacious who are clear about the goal, the challenges associated with it and how to lead people there. Those who lead should do so in the light of a deeper and a clear understanding of what is needed to be done. He should possess the light of the vision, the light of the mind which is sharp and penetrating. In darkness, our heads can collide. We can lose ourselves. This is why we need leaders who can see and understand what is at stake," Prof Bhat had said.
An analyst said, "Prof Bhat has challenged the writ of separatists and their leadership skills. In fact he has termed them as non-entities, who have no vision and have no idea about what all they have put at stake by taking entire Kashmir as hostage."
He said, "Separatists stand exposed and its clear to all that they are implementing the agenda of Pakistan in Kashmir and they are not the well wishers of people."
