Agitation for district status of Nowshera SD enters seventh day 2/22/2018 11:18:53 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Feb 22: The ongoing agitation of people of Nowshera Sub Division for the district status with HQs at Nowshera entered seventh day today. Meanwhile people of Sunderbani town and adjoining areas have also held protest demonstration at Sunderbani in favour of district status with HQs at Sunderbani. At Sunderbani people from every walks of life and leaders from various political parties held a protest demonstration and forcibly entered the police station and sat on protest dharan for few minutes raising slogans in favour of their demand and against present government for ignoring their area. The protesters also blocked Jammu-Poonch highway for some time and warned the State government of large scale protest demonstrations/ dharnas if their demand was not fulfilled. Meanwhile people of Nowshera sub division also held protest demonstration at Nowshera demanding District Status. On Wednesday College students also joined the ongoing agitation and students leaders while addressing the protesters also extended their support. Ravinder Raina, MLA, Nowshera and Surinder Choudhry, MLC have also joined the protesters and while addressing them have also extended their support and assured to take up the matter with the Chief Minister. People alleged that before the creation of district HQs at Rajouri, district HQs were proposed for Nowshera sub division with HQs at Nowshera but the people we deceived by the State government and offices were shifted to Nowshera.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
