Sacking Drabu sealed Mehbooba's fate, claims PDP rebel
7/16/2018 12:11:45 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 15: Legislators of the Peoples Democratic Party who raised the banner of revolt against the party leadership have taken on the former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and her relatives head on.
All rebels have been spitting venom against the party leadership and have leveled serious allegations against the party leadership.
A PDP rebel alleged, "Family members and a few close aides of the former Chief Minister had hijacked the party and the government. They misled Mehbooba and made her believe that all is well."
He claimed that Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister took many hasty decisions. "The biggest blunder she did was that she sacked the former Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu. Many of us were of the opinion that Drabu had not said anything wrong by stating that Kashmiris have been wasting their time."
It may be recalled that the former Chief Minister sacked Haseeb Drabu, in March this year for his remarks that Kashmir is "not a political issue" but "a society which has social issues right now."
Speaking on 'Kashmir: The Way Forward' in New Delhi on March 9, Drabu had said: "Don't see J&K as a conflict state and a political issue.
It is a society which has social issues right now. We are trying to find our own space and we are going through a process which many other countries are also going through.
They (Kashmiris) have been barking up the wrong tree for the last 50 or 70 years by talking about the politics of it, that the political situation has never improved. We seriously need to look at in terms of how it is a society that is in search of itself," he had said. The PDP rebel said that decision to sack Drabu irked the BJP leadership in Centre and sealed her fate. Most people in New Delhi were of the opinion that Drabu didn't say anything wrong and Mehbooba should not have sacked him from the council of ministers.
"When PDP legislators met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi he made it clear that BJP is a national party and it cannot be sacrificed for the sake of PDP," the rebel revealed. He said that when Tasaduq Mufti cinematographer son of late Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was inducted into the cabinet most of the PDP leaders didn't react. "In fact they welcomed him. Most of us were of the opinion that now we could approach him to seek redressal of their grievances but it didn't happen as he too was influenced by his family members," the rebel claimed.
He said that another factor which went against the PDP was the "immature statement" of Tasaduq Mufti, who had said that "PDP and BJP are equal partners in crime." "Both brother and sister acted in a very immature way on many occasions," the PDP rebel added.
