| FTCs: Real essence of speedy justice | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 23: The demand to set up Fast Track Courts (FTCs) in J&K for ensuring speedy trials of heinous crimes like rape is getting more vocal as a large number of people have expressed that such courts are a viable solution to the slow justice delivery system since they are real essence of early justice for the victims.
Anshu Mahajan, an Advocate, said the idea of FTCs is vital for early disposal of rape cases pending in different courts of the state. FTCs should be established at the earliest so that the pain and agony of rape victims could be minimized by ensuring speedy justice to them.
Rahul Sadhotra, an Advocate, said that the slow pace of trials of rape cases is certainly a big impediment in delivering justice to the victims in time. The FTCs are more than necessary as the rape cases piling up in courts cannot be reduced until and unless speedy trials are ensured.
Tarun Mahajan, an Advocate, said that the formation of FTCs would definitely yield positive results in giving much needed impetus for disposing off cases related to dreadful crimes like rapes in a time bound manner. |
