| PDP-BJP "deliberately" allowed airing of anti-India channels in Valley | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 23: For one long year, previous coalition government, in which nationalist BJP was equal partner, allowed telecast of all Pakistani channels indulged in spitting venom against India. Shockingly BJP ministers, who were part of the government, were much aware that Centre had issued notice to ban some channels which were trying to instigate people against India in Kashmir Valley but they could not get guts to ask coalition partner PDP to ban such channels.
Instead of banning those channels, which were now banned by administration of Governor N N Vohra, BJP leadership for the lust of power maintained a criminal silence and allowed airing of these channels.
As per official record, "The decision to ban these channels was initially taken in May, 2017 and the original instructions to all District Magistrates were issued on 06-05-2017 whereby the District Magistrates were instructed to take this action against Cable TV Operators transmitting non-permitted channels".
The communication issued on 02-07-2018 is only a repetition and reiteration of the earlier instructions in this regard.
Sources said the Home Department issued a repeat circular on 02-07-2018 addressed to all District Magistrates asking them to take action according to legal provisions wherever it is found that certain TV channels which are not permitted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India are being transmitted. The communication has a list of such non-permitted TV channels annexed to it. |
