DPS Jammu organizes interactive session on 'Stress Management'

Jammu, July 23: Keeping in view the growing amount of stress among the adolescents today, a thoughtful and interactive session on 'Stress Management' was organized for the students of class XI here today. The resource persons were Supreet Kour, School Counsellor and Renu Sambyal, who engaged the students in discussion and PPT presentation. The session which was attended by around 200 children, focused on Emotional life balance, Peer Pressure, Self-Image issues in addition to understanding different levels of stress and exercises to relieve the same. Some important tips shared during the session were : Keeping positive attitude, Being assertive instead of aggressive, Learning & Practicing relaxation techniques like meditation, yoga, etc., Exercising regularly, Eating healthy & balanced diet, Learning to manage time more efficiently, Making time for hobbies, Not relying on drugs & alcohol, Spending enough time with family & friends. The session ended with all participants writing a note on their first hand experience of the session attended while also expressing what they understood about stress and ways in which to control it. Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra lauded the Resource Persons for their initiative and said that it is important to appreciate the individual requirements of children and to respond to it with passion and sensitivity.
