Inter School District level tournament gets underway

Kathua, July 23: The Inter School District level tournament of District Kathua started for U-19 years Boys and Girls at Sports Stadium Kathua under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua Subash Chander Bhardwaj.
The tournament was inaugurated by ADC (Revenue) Kathua Sh Jitender Mishra in the presence of Principal Government HSS Kewal Singh. He declared open the competitions of Karate.
Meanwhile, the trials of Hockey and competitions for table tennis were organised at Sports Stadium Hira Nagar and DAV Lachhipur respectively. The competitions of Table Tennis declared open by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer Sh. Bhardwaj.
A total of 70 players of various schools of district participated at 3 venues. In Karate under 19 years boys were Amanjot Singh of Kartar Public School Barnoti, Sumit Kumar of Little Angel School Kathua, Sanjay Kumar of Saint Paul Convent School Haripur, Sangam Ranyal and Achal of Little Angel School Kathua, Rajeshwar Singh and Aman Singh of Government Higher Secondary School boys Kathua, Harpreet Singh of Kartar Public School Barnoti got first position in below 50, 54, 58, 62, 66, 70, 73 and 78 kg weight categories respectively.
Rahil Sharma of KPS Barnoti excelled in above 82 kg, Pankaj Ladgotra of DAV Lachhipur won the final match of Table Tennis by defeating Chitesh Mahotra of his own School.
Today's matches were officiated by Punjab Singh, Pankaj Spolia, Ramesh, Gurusharan Singh, Rakesh Manhas. ZPEOs Pardeep Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Activity in-charges Kuldeep Singh, Dharminder Singh Shally were also present on the occasion.
