Land mafia encroaches 500 kanal Forest land in Rajouri 8/10/2018 10:39:05 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Aug 10: The land mafia in District Rajouri has allegedly encroached over 500 kanals of forest land in active connivance with some officers of Forest Department (Forest Protection Force). Sources told Early Times that the encroachment took place in block Doonghi of District Rajouri where a group of land mafia has encroached forest land with the help of Block Officer Doonghi and concerned Range Officer. "This land mafia has been constructing Kacha houses and then selling it on huge amount under the nose of Forest Department and till date over 500 kanals of land have been annexed illegally by these elements. Shockingly the report of this encroachment reached to senior officials of the department but no action was taken to check the malpractice which clearly shows that these senior officials are also involved in the detested act," they alleged. They further informed that time and again the local people resisted the encroachment which is going on for the last one and half years but land mafia along with officers of the Forest Department continue to cover Government land. The people demanded vigilance enquiry in forest land encroachment.
