Two senior KAS officers fight out in public in Kishtwar

srinagar, Aug 10: Two senior KAS officers in Kishtwar District fought it out in public in presence of a public deputation from Dachhan who had come with their grievances with regard to non payments of compensation.
As per the details available with Early Times, the incident took place on Wednesday when a deputation from Dachhan to apprise a senior KAS officer about the ongoing work in Pakal-Dul power project and to discuss the unemployment of the area where the project is being executed beside also want to draw the attention of the officers towards non payments of compensation to land ousted people as they have lost their immoveable properties due to coming under the submergence of Dam reservoir.
Eyewitnesses said that during the course of the discussion, one of the senior officers turned furious and in between while showing his anger towards his sub ordinate officer he kicked the table which was in front of him following which both the officers had heated exchange and even almost had a scuffle, but some other senior officers present in the chamber intervened into the matter and prevented the situation from turning it into more ugly.
The incident comes close to the heels of the incident of snubbing of two junior KAS officers by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar during an official meeting last week which was seriously taken up by the Junior Scale KAS Officers Association with government and even condemned the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar for his action and termed the incident as unfortunate beside also called upon the government to initiate action against the officers.
Following the protest by KAS association, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar tried to clarify his position through a statement issued by the Assistant Commissioner Development Kishtwar Anil Kumar Chandail who down played the incident while at the same time, the aggrieved junior scale KAS officer who were at the receiving end out rightly rejected the ACD Kishtwar statement added that both ACD and DPO Kishtwar was in Jammu on the day when they issued the statement and also clarified that they did not give anything in writing to the senior RDD officials as was claimed by them.
Meanwhile the senior officials said that both the officers were not having good terms and were always seen with swords crossed.
