Tributes paid to shaheed Sham Singh

KATHUA, Dec 29: Former minister and President DCC Kathua Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today paid heartfull homage to shaheed Sham Singh of forest department who sacrificed his life while fighting with smugglers on 26 dec 1996 while on line of duty. Dr Sharma said Late Sham Singh set example by sacrificing his life which showed his true dedication and honesty with his job. He further said for a nation to prosper it should never forget its martyrs. He said that Sham Singh set practical example of awareness campaign "conserve our forest" while sacrificing his life while fighting timber smugglers and it is his duty to pay the respect to martyrs. Also during the meeting a deputation of people from village Dhod, ladoli made demand for completion of road from chan arorian to mangloor. The also demand for setting up tube wells at dhod and Ladoli. While listening Dr Sharma said it feels pain to see that the same road was started by him in 2014 but in last 4 years it has not been completed. HE assured people that if congress comes back to power his first job is to complete the said road on priority basis followed by tube wells at Dhod & ladoli. He further announced that if he comes back to power a public park will be made at Dhod as a mark of respect in memory of Shaheed Sham Singh. Others who paid homages were Rahul Singh DFO kathua, Suresh Gupta Range Officer Kathua, Narinder Singh (president forest association), Ajit Kumar (retd. Range officer), Sudesh Kumar, Chamel Singh, Sabh Singh, Surinder Singh and Nagar Singh and family members.
