After losing power Mehbooba targets NIA
Forgets agency helped her rule J&K after exposing Pak stooges in 2016

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 29: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and the president of Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti after training guns at her former ally Bharatiya Janata Party has shifted her focus towards the National Investigating Agency.
"Declaring suspects as terrorists on the basis of sutli bombs (firecracker), associating (them) with the dreaded IS (ISIS) is premature. It has already devastated their lives and families. NIA must learn from earlier episodes in which the accused were acquitted after decades," Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.
She made these comments after NIA arrested 10 people after carrying out raids at multiple locations and recovered explosive material from them. The country's premiere anti-terror agency claimed that the accused were planning to carry out suicide attacks and serial blasts to target politicians and government installations in Delhi and other parts of north India.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It seems after losing power Mehbooba Mufti has decided to target each and every institution in the country. Someone needs to remind her that it was the NIA which helped in diffusing the crisis in Kashmir in 2016. The investigating agency broke the back of the Pakistan sponsored elements by choking the Hawala channels through which 2016 agitation was being funded in the Valley."
He said, "In 2016, as a Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had surrendered before the anti-national elements and they were running a parallel government in Kashmir by calling for strikes and issuing protest calendars. It was the NIA and the security forces which restored the normalcy in the Valley and gave her a chance to rule the state."
A defence analyst said that Mehbooba Mufti has held the top most office and she should not play politics over the role of investigating agencies in taming terrorists. "It's unfortunate that mainstream politicians in Kashmir have developed a habit of appeasing the separatists and the Pakistan stooges. They believe by doing so they can earn their sympathy and win the elections. Freedom of speech is okay but that doesn't mean that politicians can speak anything for remaining relevant."
He said that anti-terror organizations in the country are working overtime to ensure that terrorists don't succeed in their nefarious designs and the people remain safe but "politicians like Mehbooba Mufti seem to be hell bent upon maligning the image of the security forces and other agencies which are giving their blood and sweat to keep the country safe."
A Kashmir watcher said that Mehbooba should focus on her party which has got scattered like a pack of cards rather than poking her nose into the matters which don't fall in her domain.
