Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 29: A PDP leader, who is wanted in connection with a case registered against him for forging the signatures of a former Law Minister, was seen with the former Chief Minister and the PDP President Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu recently.
According to the details available with Early Times Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police had registered a FIR No. 23/2017 under sections: 420, 465, 467 & 468 RPC against self styled zonal president of PDP Inderwal-Talib Hussain Butt on the basis of the complaint wherein it was maintained that he had forged signature of the concerned minister after formation of the government, the accused had allegedly collected lakhs of rupees by misusing his powers as a zonal president of the PDP.
The PDP leader is seen roaming freely in Kishtwar, Doda and Jammu, beside he was recently seen with the former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu.
Sources said that the name of PDP ex zonal president had surfaced in an alleged case of impersonation last year, wherein the accused allegedly misused the name of a minister by acting as his Personal Assistant. Although, the Crime Branch had registered a case in this regard, but even after more than a year, it has not taken any action against the accused.
The accused had allegedly given a wrong impression to people that he is very close to ministers and party leadership, so he can provide them with government jobs and public funds in the name of developmental activities.
"Zonal president made fraudulent recommendation on an application for mutual transfer of RDD official with forged signature of Minister RDD Abdul Haq Khan, which was brought into notice of Minister by his private section and the cases were registered at Crime Branch Jammu against him," the FIR stated.
This is not the only the only case wherein this PDP leader misused his position on 22nd of November 2017, when Education Minister Altaf Bukhari was out of country, the accused impersonated as his personal assistant and telephonically directed ZEO Bhatyas to relieve a particular teacher as per directions of the Minister..
After some low rung party workers brought this issue to the notice of former Chief Minister, requesting her to expel those elements, who are maligning the party, the party though removed him from Zonal President's post after major reshuffle in party setup, but this highly influential PDP leader continues to introduce himself as Zonal President of the PDP even today and seen in the company of top party leaders.
The sources in Crime Branch confirmed to "Early Times" that the accused PDP leader has not availed any bail from the competent court and his arrest is required for the investigation into the FIR No. 23/2017.
