Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 1: The indifference of the Education Department has adversely affected the quality of education in Government Schools of Jammu region as over hundred teachers have been promoted but Principals have not been posted till date.
Sources told Early Times that the Education Department had cleared the promotions of 120 teachers as principals few months ago but the order in connection with their adjustment has not been issued till date. "There are hundreds of posts of Principals, Zonal Education Officers, Head Masters lying vacant due to which the administrative functioning of such schools has adversely affected but the concerned authority seems unaware of the condition of the government schools," they said.
They said that even the Commissioner Secretary School Education was informed about the situation many a times to issue an order for their adjustment so that promoted Principals should be posted at places where posts are lying for the last many years but no action was taken to streamline the crumbling education system..
"Already the education system in Government schools has degraded as majority of parents don't want their children to get admitted in Government schools due to outdated pattern of education being taught in Government schools and shortage of teachers in remote areas," they said.
Moreover, the order No: 115 Edu. Of 2019 dated 23.01.2019 issued by Government for regularization of incharge lecturers has not been implemented even after the lapse of the two months, which has been creating resentment among the teachers' community, even the delay in their vigilance clearance for further promotions, regularizations disheartening the spirit of teachers community.
