Educational Institutions in Jammu celebrate World Theatre Day

Jammu, Apr 1: Vomedh and Gandhi Memorial College celebrated World Theatre Day in Jammu. Director Sangeet Natak Academy Award Winner, Mushtaq Kak spoke on the World Theatre Day he said that theatre is a reflection of society. The plight, sorrow, joy, helplessness, exhibited by the actors on stage sometimes end up closely mirroring our life.
King C Bharti, a senior media person threw light on the importance of theatre in journalism. He said that body language, stance, dialect, vocabulary are an important part of theatre and so is in journalism that is why those who study journalism should learn dramatics to achieve their best in the field.
Shazi khan a well known Artist, producer director actor enthralled the audience with his pieces of comedy.
Principal, Professor S. K. Bhat of Gandhi Memorial College of Education appreciated the role of Vomedh in the field of dramatics which is now a part of curriculum in B.ED and Mass Communication. He also expressed their wish to conductclasses for the students of the college.
A short play "Shrishti Maa" written by Rakesh Roshan Bhat and directed by Rohit Bhat was staged by Vomedh. Go Green message was given by Ishu Bharti.
