Early Times Report

Jammu, June 13: In a significant development with regard to release of the salaries of the Gram Rozgar Sewak (GRS) who had been allegedly appointed by the concern DCs/ACD's across the state of Jammu of Jammu and Kashmir without proper advertisement, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar directed Assistant Commissioner Development Kishtwar to implement the Court Order and submit the status report by or before 22-6-2019.
As per the details available with "Early Times", despite the High Court Directions in many cases involving such GRS from Kishtwar District of the Jammu province to release the salaries of around 48 such GRS and supporting staff who had approach the court for release of pending salaries as their families were suffered beside the education of their children's is suffering badly due to lack of financial resources, DC Kishtwar vide letter No. ARA/K/19/022-23 Dated 8-06-2019 directed ACD Kishtwar to implement the court order Dated 11-3-2019 in SWP No. 2033/2018, 1645/2018, 1719/2018, 1945/2018, IA No. 01/2018, SWP No. 2112/2018, IA No. 1/2018 titled Yasir Arafat & others vs State of Jammu and Kashmir & others with regard to release of the salaries of hundreds of GRS including those of Kishtwar District who had been denied the salaries since last nearly one and half year on the grounds that they have not been appointed by following the proper procedure. It is pertinent to mention that the High Court bench of Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur in its decision dated 11-3-2019 directed the respondents including ACD Kishtwar to consider the release of their salaries, but even after nearly three months, ACD Kishtwar fail to release the same while in similar directions, ACD Rajouri had already release the salaries in favour of such employees. Speaking to "Early Times" some of the GRS question the double standard of the government as well as the department as they are not the only ones who were appointed by the department without the advertisement added that even technical assistants, Computer operators & JEs were appointed by the department without advertisement notices which include those who were filling RTIs in the department on the name of the appointments of some technical assistants and JEs holding the fake degrees. They said that why only GRS has been selectively targeted added that they have given everything to the department and are being used for various duties which is beyond the ambit of the work assigned to them under rules and called upon Commissioner Secretary RDD and Director General RDD Jammu to look into the issue on top priority so that they could not suffer any more for the want of salaries.
