BARAMULLA, June 13: Throwing norms to wind by supplying food items to the visitors in a disposable and polythene items, the café is being functioning inside the Gulnar Park here in north Kashmir district.
Locals of Baramulla district informed early times that almost there is no cafe, hotel or restaurant that is functioning inside the parks or gardens in the valley.
Since Eid, people especially children have been visiting parks and gardens to enjoy and entertain Eid festivity with their friends and family members.
"From one side there is a huge income to the Floriculture department, and from the other side they are least bothered about the cleanliness or maintenance of parks, said locals.
Local residents of Gousia colony alleged that, the department concerned have allowed local people to run their café inside the park as on what grounds the permission was granted when the authorities knows themselves that it was against the norms.
Sijad Ahmad a local resident of Gousia colony said that, the employees of Floriculture have failed to dispose of waste and other garbage's somewhere in Baramulla town and instead of that, the same is being thrown open on the banks of river Jhelum.
"Had not Govt of India (GoI) and state government banned over the use of polythene bags, and the same has been witnessed inside the parks, and this shows how the department is serious about the matter, said a local inhabitant of Gousia colony.
People including senior citizens and patients used to visit this park for morning walk so that fresh air could give them sigh of relief, but the park has got polluted by littering the polythene and other non biodegradable items.
Parks should be kept free from cafes and restaurants, so that the visitors will not throw garbage or other non biodegradable items at anywhere or in an open space, there remains a chance that the garbage could attract stray dogs inside the park, and with the result body will dare to enter into the park, said a group of local residents.
Local said that on the routine basis the park gets huge revenue of tickets and more importantly during religious festivals, as people from all walks of life visits here in this park, but they failed to keep it neat and tidy.
