| RDD withdraws Rs 50,000 for work executed by local on his own expense | | |  Rajesh Tandon

Jammu, Jan 3: Rural Development Department Rajouri has yet again hogging limelight for its corrupt practices wherein some officials withdrew Rs 50,000 in the name of a road work which was actually got executed by a local resident on his own expense.
Sources told Early Times a local resident Lal Hussain of Panchayat Parodi of Tehsil Kotranka of District Rajouri had got widening work of a road leading to his house for transportation of building material but later department showed the work of widening of road executed by it and got withdrawn Rs 50000.
"The local resident hired JCB for widening of road so that the building material be sent to construction site conveniently but some corrupt officials in RDD prepared the documents of work execution and got released payment," they said. When contacted the BDO Kotranka Salamdin in this connection, he said that he didn't know about this issue. He further said that he would initiate inquiry into this matter. |
