Early Times Report

Anantnag, Jan 3: With Jammu and Kashmir Government seeking a confidential report from the Health and Medical Education, the murkier deals and shortage of basic facilities at Maternity and Child Care Hospital Anantnag has now reached to top quarters.
The Government appears to have taken note of the reports which expose the murkier deals and shortage of basic facilities at the hospital that is hogging headlines for all wrong reasons from last over four years now.
In a letter, accessed by Early Times, Chief Secretary's Office has directed Financial Comissioner Secretary to Health and Medical Education, Attal Duloo to submit a detailed confidential report.
'As per the reports, the Maternity and Child Care Hospital Anantnag is in deteriorated condition due to official apathy thereby providing a grim picture of heathcare. Being a maternity and Child Care Hospital, the establishment lacks basic facilities including urine, blood test, blood bank, and even there are no facilities NICU that are required for an infant during emergencies. As per reports, there seems to be a deliberate attempt by the hospital authorities not to carry out the basic tests within the hospital just keep the private laboratories in full swing under an organized mafia," letter quoting a reliable source reads.
The letter has been marked 'confidential' and the Financial Secretary Medical Education has been directed to submit a detailed report.
Early Times learnt from sources that an officer authorized to visit the hospital and submit a report regarding the functioning of hospital has complied the report. The report, prepared by the officer is going to lift curtains from grave issues and negligences.
As reported earlier, the hospital is functioning without Blood bank and even doesn't have a storage unit for storing blood as the same has developed a snag few months ago and isn't being repaired by the hospital administration.
