BJP’s duplicity on Sarore toll plaza exposed | | | Early times report
Jammu, Jan 3: Duplicity of BJP leadership has been exposed on the issue of abolishing Sarore Toll Plaza because publically one of party’s senior leaders had announced that after his letter this toll would be abolished but on Wednesday he took this issue with Lieutenant Governor Girish Chander Murmu. On October 12, 2019 the senior BJP leader had claimed to have written a letter to Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to scrap toll plaza after facing criticism for the operationalisation of the new toll plaza on the Jammu-Pathankot highway in the Sarore area of Samba district. “It is an ill thought-out decision of the local officials of the NHAI in respect of the establishment of toll plazas in the Jammu region. There is one toll plaza functioning at Ban on Jammu Udhampur route and recently another toll plaza has been established and made functional at Sarore on the Jammu-Kathua route, while another toll plaza on the same route was established at Hiranagar or Rajbagh is being made shortly functional,” senior BJP leader had claimed to write Gadkari. After ‘writing’ letter to Gadkari, BJP leader had claimed that Sarore toll plaza would be abolished very soon. For the last three months he has been claiming in every function that this toll would be abolished due to his letter written to Gadkari. But on Wednesday during his meeting with Lt Governor, the senior BJP leader along with one his colleagues raised the demand of abolishing Sarore toll plaza. The biggest question is “Had BJP leader befooled people of Jammu on toll plaza issue?’. If he was so sure that due to his letter toll plaza would be abolished would be abolished then why he has raised this demand before the Lt Governor. Credible sources said that like other emotive issues, senior BJP leader has been befooling people on Sarore toll plaza issue. ..................................
