Sarpanches protests against PDD department Kotranka

KOTRANKA, Jan 3: Sarpanches and panches from different panchayats of kotranka today protested against PDD department for distributing electricity bills to the consumers without connection and the bills of the time when transformers were damaged. Protesters raised slogans against department.
Protest was taken under the leadership of sarpanch Sofi Alam Din he was joined by other sarpanches , panches and other people's of area who are victims of department. Sofi Alam din who is also the sarpanch of panchayat Draj A of kotranka he told media that many people of his panchayat received electricity bills from PDD department but they have no electricity connections. He futher told that department is distributing bills to those consumers for the time when their transformers were damaged and transformers were not restored before one month. He asked why should people pay if they had not used any electricity for this time period.
Some of the consumers who received bills without connections are Mohd Shafi S/O Mir resident of ward no. 6 of panchayat Draj A, Layaqit Ali S/O Abdullah resident of ward no. 7 of panchayat Draj A and Rashid S/O Mohd shafi resident of Panchayat A. And those who got bill without using power are Mohd Iqbal S/O Mir Hussain, Abdul Qayoom S/O Mir Hussain, Mohd Ayoub S/O Mir Hussain residents of Ward no. 5 of Mohra A Panchayat, Maqbool Hussain resident of ward no. 1 of Mohra A panchayat and many others who received bill for the month when their transformer was damaged.
Alam Din told that they have sent a letter to LG Jammu and Kashmir, DC Rajouri and ADC kotranka in this regard. Protesters demanded tough action against department officials who are involved in this matter.
