EARLY TIMES REPORT

KISHTWAR, May 21: Following the snubbing by none other than Principal Secretary Education Asgar Hussain Samoon, Chief Education Officer Kishtwar ordered for immediate detachment of all the teachers and masters attached in various schools, ZEO offices and DIET Kishtwar.
CEO directed all the concerned officials to detach all such teachers and masters without any delay while at the same time Principal Secretary Education Asgar Hussain Samoon’s activeness online on social media viz Twitter gives sleepless nights to officials in Education Department as he (Samoon) is directly interacting with the people, journalists and employees of the department which gives him in-depth knowledge about the ground realities pertaining to the functioning of School Education Department. As per the details available with Early Times, Chief Education Officer Kishtwar vide letter No. CEO/K/2020-21/618-98 Dated 19-5-2020 made public yesterday issued directions to Principal DIET Kishtwar, all Principal HSS/GHSS, all ZEOs & all Headmaster HS/GHS with regard to detachment of Teaching faculty and compliance thereof.
The CEO in his letter shows anguish over non-compliance of the report from various heads of the institution with regard to implementation of the directions issued by senior officials including Director School Education Jammu which shows how deep rooted nexus involving influential teachers and masters runs deep into the department that gives the spikes to even bypass the directions issued by the higher ups.
“Till date some of the DDOs have not complied the order, as such all the DDOs will relieve the deployed/attached staffs in the offices/schools under their kind control and submit compliance report by tomorrow upto 3.PM as desired by worthy Principal Secretary School Education Department J&K” read the order.
The employees in Education department inform the Early Times that detachments had been made on selective bases and only non influential teachers and masters were detached after CEO Kishtwar order flowing snubbing from Principal Secretary School Education and calls for one to all detachments including those on verbal directions.
They said that an influential teacher working in legal section of CEO office Kishtwar still has not been detached added that one teacher holding SSA Charge on verbal directions in the office of ZEO Nagsini continues to work there.
Several employees as well as general public hail the online proactive approach of Principal Secretary School Education department added that this helps them to directly put forth his/her grievances before him and same yield the results with several pending cases of promotions at various levels were cleared by the department while at the same time the DPCs which had not been conducted since February 2014 had been assured by the officer after a teacher from Kishtwar submitted the grievance online.
Similarly Samoon also took serious note of non-serious approach of maintaining student-teacher ratio and suspended CEO Anantnag after a case of a school with 15 students and 13 teachers surfaced and came to the knowledge of the head of the department.
It is pertinent to mention that the schools in Urban areas with less number of students had higher strength of teaching staff while in rural areas schools, there are only few teachers available to teach the student strength of around 200/300 which need to be addressed so that the student/teacher ratio could be improved in rural areas.
