TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Most ministers want to be Deputy CM
Cracks in BJP wide, open
6/22/2015 2:22:48 AM
Early Times Report Srinagar, June 21: Cracks within the BJP leadership in Jammu and Kashmir are wide and open as the party ministers have failed to act as a single unit and all of them are trying to project themselves as bigger than the party. Sources told Early Times that since the day Durbar has opened in the summer capital BJP ministers have not even met on a single occasion to discuss the strategy or the important points necessary to run the government. "It's unfortunate that despite representing the same party BJP ministers can't sit with each other under one roof. All the ministers think that they are the kings and if they share a common stage with each other it would be against their honour and dignity," said an insider. "The ego of the BJP ministers is bigger than anything else." He said BJP ministers are mostly seen with the PDP leaders and they wait for a chance to oblige them. "It's our dharma to oblige our coalition partner that's why we never say no to them," said a close aide of a BJP minister. "All the BJP ministers believe that they are the tallest leaders in...

Alternate highway compounds problems of people
6/22/2015 2:20:21 AM
Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 21: An amount of more than 30 crores has gone down the drain as the Natipora-Newa road connecting some districts of Kashmir valley with those of Jammu division has been squeezed to a street despite the fact that thousands of vehicles pass through the road on daily basis. As on date the 21 kilometers long Natipora-Newa road is no more a road connecting Kashmir with some districts of Jammu. Due to the narrowness of the road there are recurring possibilities of accidents. Some accidents have occurred in the past and more can't be ruled out given the width of the road. Amarnath Yatra
6/22/2015 12:08:24 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, June 21: All is not well in the Sangh Parivar, the so-called non-political outfit. The Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP), which is an important wing of the RSS, is not happy with the state government of which the BJP is the second most important constituent. The BJP is the political organ of the RSS, which virtually controls and guides it, as all the general secretaries (organization) have all along been from the RSS. The RSS and the BJP work in complete unison. On Saturday, the VHP launched a scathing attack on the government, the BJP, and charged it with working under pressure from separatists in Kashmir, who hate the annual Amarnath Yatra saying the Yatra pollutes ...
